Dr. Christopher L. Heffner, Director of the PsyTech Lab at Antioch University Seattle, has been elected to a three-year leadership role in the American Psychological Association’s Division 46: Society for Media Psychology and Technology.
Beginning in January 2026, Dr. Heffner is serving as President-Elect, followed by his term as Division President in 2027, and concluding his service as Past-President in 2028.
This leadership role reflects Dr. Heffner’s ongoing commitment to advancing the intersection of psychology, media, and technology. As a clinical psychologist, educator, and researcher, his developing presidential vision emphasizes a balanced approach, addressing the potential risks of a media-driven world while also advancing the powerful role media and technology can play in promoting well-being, resilience, and meaningful human connection.
This work aligns closely with the mission of the PsyTech Lab, which is dedicated to exploring how emerging technologies can be used to enhance mental health care and support flourishing in individuals, families, and communities.
