Dr. Bergkamp Elected NCSPP President
We are excited to announce the election of Dr. Jude Bergkamp as the incoming President of the National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology (NCSPP). His 3-year term will begin on August 1, 2023.
Dr. Jude Bergkamp has been elected as the incoming President of the National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology (NCSPP). His 3-year term will begin on August 1, 2023.
Dr. Bergkamp has served on the Executive Committee and as the Chair of the Ethnic and Racial Diversity Committee (ERDC) for the past 4 years. Along with graduate students, he initiated the Student of Color Council (SOCC) that seeks to create liberatory spaces for graduate students of color in the NCSPP delegate programs. Since its inception in 2021, the program has touched over 100 BIPOC graduate students matriculating in NCSPP delegate programs across the country.
The mission of NCSPP is to advance the development of the highest quality of graduate training in professional psychology and NCSPP supports excellence in graduate training by:
1.Developing standards for the education and training of professional psychologists.
2. Monitoring and providing input into public policy with regard to the education and training of professional psychologists.
3.Providing a forum for the exchange of information about the functioning of schools and programs of professional psychology.
4. Providing liaison with others involved in the education and training of professional psychologists.
5. Providing consultation on the development and maintenance of schools and programs of professional psychology.
6. Fostering research, development and application in appropriate areas of psychology and to the solution of significantproblems of human welfare.
7. Developing quality assurance methods based on an empirical evaluation.
8. Gathering and disseminating information regarding schools and programs of professional psychology.
