DSPAI’s Jude Bergkamp, PsyD, presented Pathways to the therapist paragon: a decolonial grounded theory at the National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology’s (NCSPP) Mid-Winter conference in January 2024. This presentation asks one to interrogate their own ideal image of the “perfect” therapist and seeks to explore how socially conferred privilege impacts psychotherapy, an understudied topic in the field of clinical psychology. Here we see DSPAI’s values coming alive in research and in the dissemination of knowledge. We welcome you to engage with this recorded presentation and published article.
